Description
The Nikki Cardigan is destined to become your go-to cardigan pattern. With a wrap style and two different length options, you can create stylish and comfortable cardis to keep you warm all year long.
The pattern features two versions: Version 1 is a short cardigan, designed to hit below your waist. Version 2 is a hip-length cardigan. It is fitted on the shoulders and features a separate tie belt and optional belt loops on the sides. You can wear it either closed or open, depending on the look you prefer.
SKILL LEVEL
The Nikki is designed for beginner sewers. With no difficult techniques, no fastenings and little fitting it is the perfect pattern to tackle in the beginning of your dressmaking journey.
FABRIC SUGGESTIONS
Depending on the time of year and the styling you have in mind, you can make the Nikki cardigan out of a variety of fabrics. We recommend using light to medium weight knit fabrics with a 4-way stretch. For the warmer months choose a thinner knit. If you are making a winter cardigan, look for something with a bit more weight to it, like a medium weight cotton jersey, a ponte di Roma or a sweater knit.
If you are a beginner in sewing with knits, try to stay away from anything too lightweight and stretchy. Jerseys with more weight are much easier to handle and work with.
SIZE RANGE
Our patterns come in sizes UK 4-28 ((US 0-24, EU 32-56). They are drafted for an approximate height of 1.65 m (5.4 ft) and a B cup. Please check the product photos for the detailed sizing chart.
